On April 4th, The persident of Thai Alumni Association of China’s Universities Wanna Lorluelert and the director of Confucius Institute at the University of Panama Junhui David WuYi came to discuss the cooperation of landing IKCEST Silk Road Training Base in Thailand and Panama. Xi Guang, the vice persident of Xi’an Jiaotong University, met with guests at 201 room of Shaw Science Building. The directors of  International Cooperation Group, Talent Training Group and Techenical Group also attended the meeting.

Xi Guang, the vice persident of Xi’an Jiaotong University, introduced the background and development of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. He hopes to use the platform of league to promote the education cooperation and serve the need of “One Belt One Road” countries and regions.

Then, the members from Project Group of IKCEST Silk Road Training Program introduced the construction and opeerating of Training Base.IKCEST Silk Road Training Base always keeps the principle of serving country’s development and the principle of all-aspect communicating. It has successfully held 28 seasons of engineering training program, and it will serve more on training programs for “One Belt One Road” countries and regions. According to thw director of Training Base, the training programs overseas will be expanded, the connection between training programs and other countries will be reached. The Training Base will serve the needs from “One Belt One Road” countries and regions better.

After hearing the report, persident Wanna Lorluelert says Thailand is constructing “Industry 4.0” and attaching a great importance to engineering talents. Meanwhile, Thailand is the financial center of Southeast Asia, it will be a milestone if IKCEST Silk Road Training Center expands the training programs to Thailand. And it will also promote the level of local education.

The director of Confucius Institute at the University of Panama Junhui David WuYi says China and Panama established diaplomatic relationship last year, which represents “One Belt One Road” has been expanded to Latin America. Meanwhile, University of Panama has campuses in ten provinces nationwide and about 65,000 students. We sincerely welcome IKCEST Silk Road Training Base come to Panama to organize training programs and promote academic communication together.

The meeting has reached the agreement on the selection of project, training contant and location. In September, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base will go to Rangsit University in Thailand organizing engineering training program and spreading Chinese culture and advanced knowledge about technology to Thailand, insisting the training principle of going abroad and serving the needs of “One Belt One Road” countries and regions better. The Confucius Institute at the University of Panama hopes the training can be held before Chinese Persident Xi Jinpingvisit Panama at October and make a good atmosphere for the communication between China and Panama. The details of the training will be negotiated soon.

The staffs of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base insist the training principle of going abroad and keep expanding training program overseas, serving “One Belt One Road” countries and regions better, promoting the communication and cooperation with “One Belt One Road” countries and regions on areas of education, culture communication and technology.
