The 41st Session of IKCEST Silk Road training program for Engineering and technological development was successful held in Rangsit University, Thailand from Sept. 3rd to 6th. Vice President Zheng Qinghua of Xi’an Jiaotong University attended the opening ceremony. After the ceremony, Professor Zheng Qinghua and the delegation visited the headquarter of Thai Alumni Association of China's Universities, Chinese Embassy in Thailand, Bangkok Center of Chinese Culture, and the Thailand Ministry of Education, where the delegation seek to more opportunities for extending IKCEST SRTB’s operation in Thailand and training more innovative international talents.
On Sept. 3rd, under the sponsorship of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the 41st session of special Silk Road training program of engineering and technological development was successfully held thanks to the joint efforts of Xi’an Jiaotong University, UNESCO IKCEST, and Rangsit University of Thailand. Luo Tieying, president of Thai Alumni Association of China's Universities, Gidiya Bington, vice president of Rangsit University, Song Ruoyun, secretary from education department of Chinese Embassy in Thailand, attended the opening ceremony.
On the opening ceremony, vice president Zheng Qinghua made a keynote speech “IKCEST Silk Road Training Base:Cultivate Innovative Talents by Our Joint Effort of Connecting & Sharing”. In his speech, professor Zheng Qinghua pointed out that IKCEST Silk Road Training programs have been held successfully for 40 sessions on a variety of leading-edge topics of big data, cloud computing, internet of things ect. About 1682 foreign students, educational officials, and engineers from 105 Belt-road countries attended these trainings. The theme for this new session of special training program is “By Connecting and Sharing, We Join Hands in the Cultivation of Innovative Talents”. Up till recently, the Silk Road Training Base of IKCEST has established foundations of platforms constructing, resources building and international innovative talent training, based on a variety of languages of Chinese, Russia and Arabs. The base’s development goal for year 2020 is to offer talent-training programs for Belt-road countries, and build practical centers for Belt-Road talent training, and center for popular entrepreneurship, and think tank building.
This session of Special training program is themed on the leading-edge topics of AI, big data, etc., and all lecturers are some of the best young teachers from Xi’an Jiaotong University. Over 200 students and teachers from Rangsit University attended the lectures, and thought highly about the excellent teaching skills and expertise of the lecturers, and hoped there would be more such training programs.
Vice president Zheng Qinghua, when visiting the Thai Alumni Association of China's Universities, pointed out that this special training programs is a very action of better carrying out the One Belt One Road Initiative by Chinese president Xi Jinping. This program will help promote the internalization process of Silk Road special training programs of engineering and technological development, which will benefit more and more Belt-road countries and regions.
Vice president Zheng Qinghua and the delegation visited Bangkok Center for Chinese Culture and Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and talked with Counselor Lan Suhong, where Miss Lan praised Xi’an Jiaotong University’s bold step to extend such special training programs outside China. Miss Lan pointed out that such engineering, technological and cultural exchanges help strengthen the ties and friendship between China and Thailand. Miss Lan also offered to provide more help in publicizing for the training programs so that the such training will benefit more people in Thailand.
On Sept. 4th, invited by the vice minister Werasit Sittitral, vice president Zheng Qinghua visited Thailand Ministry of Education. Professor Zheng Qinghua gave an account of the training program and expressed his wishes of setting up an oversea training base in Thailand, which draw great attention of the minister. The Thailand Ministry of Education has showed great interest in establishing a branch base for IKCEST SRTB, and is willing to provide necessary condition. The minister also promised to guarantee the smooth development of IKCEST SRTB in Thailand so that more Thai students will benefit from these training programs.
