Foreign Students from XJTU’s Silk Road SpecialTraining Program for Engineering and Technological Development Attending the CommemorationCeremony of 1000th China-Euro Express Train
On the afternoon of Oct. 30th, 2018, the opening commemoration for the completion of operating over 1,000 trains in 2018 of China railway express (Chang’an) was held at Xi'an Railway Container Center of Xi'an International Trade & Logistic Park. The provincial and municipal leaders and frequenters witnessed the historical moment of the opening for the China-Europe railway express of Chang’an in 2018. Thirty-five foreign students, as representatives from IKCEST Training Base in the 44th IKCEST Training Program for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology participated the event. They are from six countries, such as Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Peru etc.
In the ceremony, Wang Yongkang, standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Xi'an Municipal Party Committee pointed that that the Chang'an has become the "leading railway express" of all-round opening-up, the "golden railway express" of prosperous trade and the "happy railway express" of a better life. Xi'an will contribute to put into practice the One Belt One Road Initiative, and strive to build CR express Chang’an an international freight train with the highest efficiency, best service speed, and the largest volume.
The students were keen on this event and felt honored to be able to witness such a historical moment. A Pakistani student said he would love to take part in the IKCEST Training Program for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology in the future and gain more opportunities to witness such historical moments.
Afterward, the staff of Xi'an International Trade & Logistic Park invited students to learn how to cook Chinese and Western cuisine so that it helped students to have a better understanding of the development status for Xi'an International Trade & Logistic Park. Foreign students also experienced how to make noodles and steaks.
Wang Yongkang, Secretary of Xi'an Municipal Party Committee and Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the CPC, was interested in students who were studying in China after the unveiling ceremony. He met with six foreign students from IKCEST Training Program for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology and tasted the steak cooked by the representatives of foreign students. He added that we should learn more about living and studying conditions of foreign students in Xi'an, and he also encouraged them to study hard and contribute to the development of One Belt One Road Initiative.
The School of Continuing Education of XJTU and the Network Information Center took active part in the construction of the One Belt One Road training project for the IKCEST silk road training base. Through the training of high-quality young elites, we can better promote economic prosperity and regional economic cooperation among different countries, and enhance mutual communications among different civilizations. Meanwhile, we should strengthen cooperation with International Trade & Logistic Park, deepen the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on One Belt One Road, expand the training base, promote the construction of the "the Belt and Road", and work together to promote the progress and development of the world and build a community with shared future for mankind.
Till now, the IKCEST silk road training base has successfully held 44 sessions within China, in Russia and Thailand, and benefited over 3000 students from 107 countries and regions. It has become a business card for XJTU’s social education and training, which has greatly extended its influence in the world, especially in the Belt-road countries.
