During the Spring Festival, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base received the invitation of Samarkand National University and planned to offer new training & cooperative programs in Uzbekistan in early April.
Samarkand National University of Uzbekistan, founded in 1937, is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Central Asia and the second largest university in Uzbekistan. Samarkand is the second largest city in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the capital of Samarkand and the hometown of President Karimov of Uzbekistan. In November 2013, Samarkand and Xi’an established sister cities, and conducted exchanges and cooperation in economy and trade, tourism, culture, science and technology, education and sports etc.
In April 2018, President Harmuradov of Samarkand National University of Uzbekistan visited Xi'an Jiaotong University. President Wang Shuguo and President Harmuradov talked on personnel training and scientific research, and reached consensus on strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
In January this year, Muhtor Nasirov, Vice President of Samarkand National University, sent IKCEST Silk Road Training Base a formal invitation for jointly organizing Silk Road Training Program for Engineering and Technological Development, with a hope of strengthening further cooperation in the future. The two sides then reached agreement on further details such as the training time, curriculum, transportation, venues and personnel. Scheduled in early April, the Stuff Team of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base will visit Uzbekistan for cooperation on training project, which covers subjects such as Life Science, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Material Science, Chinese Culture, etc.
Up to recently, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base has held oversea Training programs in Thailand and Russia. This year, in addition to deepening the cooperation with Thailand and Russian universities, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base will also explore cooperation with other Belt-Road countries like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
