According to the experts’ suggestions in the 2019 Symposium on the Platform Construction Planning of the Silk Road Science Technology Knowledge Service System held by the International Knowledge Center of Engineering, Science Technology, the user experience of the Silk Road sub-center website platform is being comprehensively optimized, with its main positioning focused on “highlighting the characteristics of the silk road, reflecting the concerns of UNESCO, strengthening scientificity”. Through a combined effort of 13 meetings on needs analysis conceptual design ect., 20 days of intensive wok, the task of website revision designing was completed during the winter vacation. After the revision, the webpages took a complete new look, expressing a combined feeling of technology modernness, with highlights on the displaying of IKCEST SRTB news. Meanwhile, 3 new thematic modules of Global Engineering, Ranking of Belt-Road Higher Education, Technological Service System of Silk Road were added to the original 6 modules, reaching a total level-1 level-2 displaying webpages of 18.
In the module of Global Engineering, the webpage designing of case data collection & display of the Oresund Strait Bridge has been completed. At the same time, in line with the requirements of the general platform, the exhibition platform for the One Belt One Road achievements in Engineering Science technology was established. The data-displaying scheme for the Ranking of Belt-Road Higher Education has been finalized during the winter vacation, through drawing relative data from QS, THE, US News ARWU. Further data collection is being conducted.
In the next phase, overall webpage improvement will be mainly focused, like on continuously upgrading the Displaying Platform of One Belt One Road Achievements in the fields of engineering technology, perfecting the datasets for the Ranking of Belt-Road Higher Education of 2019 for Belt-Road comprehensive dataset, developing two applications based on the two datasets. The building of the mobile version of the platform will also be initiated in the coming phase, with primary focus on needs analysis.
