From Feb. 25th to Mar. 6th, 2019, under the guidance of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the 47th workshop on “Training Program for Silk Road Engineering Science Technology Development” was held in the Silk Road Training Base, XJTU under the auspices of International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences Technology (IKCEST) UNESCO co-organization of XJTU. About 200 foreign students from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Chang’an University Xidian University participated in this training program. They were from over 40 Belt-road countries, such as Pakistan, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan etc.

The training program lasted for about 8 days, the following lectures such as “The Role of Health in Economic Growth Development” “Financial Decision Making: From Risk Measure to Portfolio Selection Problems” “Technical Analysis On Financial Problems Using R” “An Introduction to Causal Inference using Propensity Score Matching Difference-in-Differences Approaches” “Financial Engineering” “Let Machine Learn By Itself” “Historical Economic Background of Silk Road Economic Belt” “Spring Festival Chinese Paper-cut Experience”were given by the experienced professors. The teachers gave clear, vivid examples to make the topic deep-going but easy to understand. The students benefited a lot from it discussed with the teacher after the lectures.

In addition, in order to deepen the students' understanding of China's economic development, the training set up special visits that closely related to the courses. On the afternoon of Feb. 27th, over 50 foreign students were led to visit LPort Group. The visit focused on the four aspects of "eating, living, riding, working" in the Xi'an LPort Group. The staff of the Xi'an LPort Group gave a fully introduction to the industrial development, staff employment, accommodation, dining, recreation sports so that the students can have a better understanding of the Xi'an LPort Group. Meanwhile, this visit laid a good foundation for the oversea students who would like to start their own business in LPort Group after graduation.
