On Apr. 25th , 2019, under the guidance of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the 52nd Silk Road Training Programme on Engineering Scientific and Technological Development was held in the Samarkand State University, under the auspices of UNESCO International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) and co-organization of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Samarkand State University and IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. Vice-presidents of Samarkand State University Muhtor, Ahmadjon and Hakim , deans of Samarkand State University Akram Begmatov , Abdelsattor Babayarov, Ahmad Absanov and dean of the School of Continuing Education, XJTU Di Dehai , vice dean of the School of Continuing Education Zhang Pingchuan, XJTU and teachers from seven schools of XJTU attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Muhtor, vice president of Samarkand State University, more than 150 students from Samarkand State University participated the programme.
On the opening ceremony, dean Di Dehai gave an opening speech, in which he pointed out that under the auspices of Chinese Academy of Engineering and UNESCO International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST), Silk Road Training Base has committed itself to cultivating international talents. He hoped that scientific and technological knowledge will be disseminated to all corners of the world through the Silk Road special training programmes on Engineering Scientific and Technological Development. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, China should strengthen exchange with other countries along the Silk Road to build a better world together.
Muhtor and the delegation of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base conducted in-depth exchanges on cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that Samarkand State University would develop in-depth cooperation and share educational resources with XJTU. The members of the delegation expressed their confidence in the cooperation between the two universities, which indicates that the School of Continuing Education will make every effort to promote the implementation of the cooperation between the two universities.
This training is the first attempt among Samarkand State University, XJTU and IKCEST Silk Road Training Base to cultivate international talents. It will also open up a new situation for inter-university cooperation between Samarkand State University and XJTU. It is also a solid step for IKCEST Silk Road Training Base on the road of professional and social service in the training of foreign students. It also laid a solid foundation for the establishment of a stable cooperative relationship between the two universities.
