The 71st IKCEST Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development themed on New Infrastructure Construction was held in Xingqing Campus of Xi’an Jiaotong University from June 29th to July 9th. It was co-hosted by the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) under the Auspices of UNESCO and Xi’an Jiaotong University, and organized by IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. A total of 35 foreign undergraduate students from Xi’an Jiaotong University registered for the workshop. They were from Belt-road countries such as Pakistan, and Ethiopia etc.

The training programme lasted for about 2 weeks, and the following lectures such as 5G in a Nutshell, Brief Introduction to Robotics, Big Data Processing and Deep-learning, Introduction to Machine Learning,Past, Present and Future of High Voltage Engineering, Current Situation and Development Trend of Modern Energy Science and Technology,Development Trend of Rail Transit Technology, Shaanxi: Home to Chinese Civilization were given by the experienced professors in Xi’an Jiaotong University. The teachers gave clear, vivid examples to make the topics deep-going but easy to understand. The students benefited a lot from it and discussed with the teacher after the lectures.

Till now, the IKCEST Silk Road Training Base has successfully held 71 training programmes. This training programme, as an important work of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, will play important role in training more talents for the Belt-road countries and better serving to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. It also made important contributions to the economic and social development of European, Asian and African Belt-road countries and regions.
