In the afternoon of June 2, an online exchange meeting was held between International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the Auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST) and Pakistani University Delegation.
On behalf of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, Chen Ling, Vice President of School of Continuing Education of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, introduced the progressing of IKCEST Silk Road Training Programme and expressed that IKCEST Silk Road Training Programme has always attached great importance to cooperate and exchange with Pakistani colleges and universities, and will continue to promote practical cooperation mainly for training engineering and scientific talents.
Professor Atta-ur-Rahman of University of Karachi, Pakistan, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman UN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (UNESCAP), said that cooperation in higher education is an important part of promoting China-Pakistan friendly cooperation, and he expects Pakistani universities to deepen cooperation with Chinese universities through the IKCEST programme.
The meeting participants also introduced the basic information of their universities and discussed possible cooperation domains such as IKCEST Silk Road training programme. The two sides signified that the meeting is bound to deepen mutual understanding, to promote cooperation and to present as a gift for marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan.
Meeting attendees also include Mujahid, Rector (Academic & Research), Pak Austria Fachhochschule- Institute of Applied Sciences & Tech, Head of Engineering Advanced Research Centre, Islamabad, Chemical Research Centre, University of Karachi, Lahore University of Management and Technology in additional to the staff coming from IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, School of Continuing Education and Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Xi 'an Jiaotong University.
