The Education Information Technology Application Innovation Laboratory (Education Xinchuang Lab) of the Ministry of Education’s Education Management Information Center has officially released the 2025 Collection of Outstanding Cases in Education Information Technology Application Innovation. The case submitted by Xi’an Jiaotong University, “Intelligent Siyuan Academy—Innovative Practice of a Full-Scenario Teaching Platform with Xinchuang Chain Connectivity and AI Empowerment,” was selected for inclusion. This signifies that the university’s AI+Xinchuang integration in empowering education and teaching has gained recognition from a national authoritative platform. It marks another landmark achievement for “Siyuan Academy” following its first-prize win in the National Education Information Technology Application Innovation Competition.

As the authoritative evaluation body for Xinchuang development in the national education sector, the Education Information Technology Application Innovation Laboratory of the Ministry of Education opened this year’s call for outstanding cases to provincial and municipal education authorities, higher education institutions, and primary and secondary schools across the country. The call focused on core areas such as digital transformation in education and full-chain Xinchuang transformation. After a rigorous evaluation, exemplary achievements with demonstration value and that are replicable and scalable were selected for inclusion, to be promoted as experience and practical reference for the education field nationwide. This selection fully validates Xi’an Jiaotong University’s achievements in building localized smart teaching platforms and implementing AI-driven full-scenario teaching, as well as its pioneering role in the sector.
The “Intelligent Siyuan Academy” was jointly developed by the university’s Network and Information Center and the Academic Affairs Office to serve the needs of the “teacher-student-machine” ternary teaching model in undergraduate classroom education. Anchored by two major goals—AI-empowered full-process teaching and a fully autonomous and controllable Xinchuang chain—it implements AI-assisted teaching across all disciplines, all courses, and all scenarios. The platform features functions including AI-powered intelligent lesson preparation, pre-class preview, in-class intelligent quizzes, AI teaching assistants, intelligent grading of subjective questions, and intelligent processing of teaching videos. It closes the operational loop across pre-class, in-class, post-class, and teaching evaluation phases, provides open interfaces for teachers to integrate self-developed teaching AI agents, and aggregates high-quality teaching resources such as courseware, videos, and audio. An intelligent application ecosystem has thus been established, covering the entire chain of teaching, learning, management, and evaluation. To date, the Siyuan Academy platform has hosted 8,700 course offerings, all in regular use, with an average daily visit volume of 200,000 by faculty and students. Previously, this project won the national first prize at the Second National Education Information Technology Application Innovation Competition in 2025.
Going forward, the Network and Information Center will leverage this selection as an opportunity to continue deepening the platform’s Xinchuang iteration and AI function optimization. It will further refine a Xinchuang-based smart teaching solution for higher education institutions that can be shared externally, thereby contributing to the high-quality, coordinated development of education Xinchuang and smart teaching in universities nationwide.
