On the afternoon of June 10, a delegation from Tongji University, including Dai Dayong and Feng Xin, Deputy Directors of the Informatization Office, visited Xi’an Jiaotong University to conduct a thematic survey on digital and smart campus construction, campus network operation and maintenance, and network security. The meeting was chaired by Suo Zhihai, Director of the Network and Information Center of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and attended by relevant heads of the center.

At the symposium, the Tongji University research team introduced the background and key focus areas of their visit, expressing the desire to learn from Xi’an Jiaotong University’s practical experience in data governance, network management, and AI-empowered operation and maintenance.

Suo Zhihai extended a warm welcome to the visitors and delivered an overall report on the development of the "Digital and Smart Jiaotong" initiative. He noted that the university upholds unified planning and coordinated advancement, having established a campus network integrating four types of networks, a multi-integrated computing power platform, and a full-dimensional data governance system. The university continuously deepens the integration of artificial intelligence with teaching, scientific research, and campus management, and is steadily advancing the layout of the digital and smart campus development for the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Subsequently, Li Guodong, Xu Mo, and Liu Jun, Deputy Directors of the Network and Information Center of Xi’an Jiaotong University, shared in turn, based on their respective areas of responsibility, the work measures and development plans concerning campus network operations, data governance, smart teaching, network security, and informatization project management. Relevant staff of the Network and Information Center conducted system demonstrations, showcasing the core platform functions and on-the-ground application results of integrated campus network management, security monitoring, smart teaching, and computing power services, and presenting the practical outcomes of the deep integration of big data, artificial intelligence, and campus informatization.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on multiple topics, including the 15th Five-Year Plan, campus network bandwidth scheduling, dormitory network operation and maintenance, wireless network optimization, and AI-empowered network operation and maintenance, fostering a lively atmosphere of exchange.

This exchange was pragmatic and efficient, effectively promoting the sharing and mutual learning of informatization development experience between the two universities. Both sides agreed to strengthen regular communication and collaboration going forward, learn from each other, move forward hand in hand, continuously explore new pathways for the digital transformation of education, and jointly elevate the informatization development of higher education institutions to new heights.
