IKCEST Silk Road Training Base: 43rd Session of the Special Training for Silk Road Engineering and Technological development Successfully Held in Novosibirsk University, Russia

From Sept. 17th to 19th, sponsored by the UNESCO IKCEST, Xi’an Jiaotoung University IKCEST Silk Road Training Base and Novosibirsk University jointly conducted the 43rd session of the Special training for Silk Road engineering and technological development in Novosibirsk University, Russia. Fifty-three students from the Novosibirsk University attended the program.  

   

Professor Di Dehai, dean of School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Chen Ling, vice dean of School of Continuing Education of XJTU, Gong Wending, vice director of the Department of Social Education Management of XJTU, Julia, Dean of Confucius School of Novosibirsk University, Wang Lin, vice dean of Confucius School of Novosibirsk University, Professor Zuev, dean of the School of Humanity, attended the opening ceremony. Professor Zuev first welcomed and extended his thanks to the team from IKCEST Silk Road Training Base for bringing this session of special training to Novosibirsk University. He hoped that all the students attending this training program take good use of this opportunity, and implement what they learn here in their future work, and contribute their wisdom to their country and the development of Belt-road countries.

   

In the following speech, professor Di Dehai expressed his gratitude to Confucius School of Novosibirsk University for their support for the program. He pointed out that this training program is a good way to implement the One Belt One Road Initiative in the field of education. He then introduced the history and development of Silk Road University Alliance, and achievements of the IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. Finally, professor Di Dehai hoped that this training program might help the students know more about One Belt One Road Initiative, about the cultural heritages of both China and Russia, which will help promote cultural, educational, technological communication and cooperation between China and Russia. He also expressed his wish to look for further cooperation in more different fields between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Novosibirsk University.

   

The session of the training program is themed on Chinese history and culture and lecturers are some of the best teachers from Xi’an Jiaotong University. Both the contents and their teaching style greatly attracted the students. Students attending the program all wished that there could be more of such training. At the end of the training program, professor Di Dehai award the students with training certificates jointly issued by UNESCO IKCEST, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Novosibirsk University.

   

During the intervals of the training program, the delegation from Xi’an Jiaotong University IKCEST Silk Road Training Base had a meeting with heads from Confucius School, department of foreign affairs, and Tele-education center from Novosibirsk University. Vice dean Chen Ling reported the progress of on-line education program of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, and discussed about establishing an oversea online education center with Sahaydak Ivanovich, director of department of foreign affairs in Novosibirsk University. Sahaydak Ivanovich expressed his great interest in cooperation between the two university in training talents, and expressed his support in promoting cultural, educational and technological communication between China and Russia. He wished this would help train more high-end talents for both China and Russia, and contribute to the opening and cooperation of higher education between Silk Road countries, which will finally help promote the development of human civilization.

   

On Sept. 18th, the delegation from IKCEST Silk Road Training Base visited Technological Garden of Novosibirsk State, where they met and discussed with Pletneva Elena Yurevna, vice director of Educational Policy Administration Bureau of Educational Department of Novosibirsk State, about elite education. Both sides agreed that there could be further communication and cooperation between Xi’an Jiaotong University and Novosibirsk State for the Middle School students and primary school students, and believed that this will strengthen the influence and promote the development of IKCEST in Russia.

   

   

This special training program was sponsored by UNESCO IKCEST, and held jointly by Silk Road Training Base and Novosibirsk University, and aimed to participate in and promote the development of One Belt One Road Initiative by training high-ended talents, which will not only help promote the economic development of Belt-Road countries and their regional economic cooperation, but also enhance the mutual understanding and learning of one culture from another and promote world civilizational harmony.
