Xi'an Jiaotong University and Huawei Technologies Co.,Ltd. established a supercomputing technology research center - which doubles asa storage technology joint innovation center - at the Western China Science& Technology Innovation Harbour in Xi’an on March 8.

The university, as a leader in the construction ofschool-level supercomputing platforms, has accumulated rich experience insupercomputing applications.

Huawei has been conducting long-term strategic investmentin the data storage industry, and has accumulated extensive technical expertisein this area.

By building the world's leading supercomputing storagetechnology innovation center, the two parties are striving to tackle keyproblems in the supercomputing storage field, promote the transformation ofmajor innovative achievements, and cultivate supercomputing talents.

According to the agreement, the two will strengthentechnological cooperation in terms of clients, DPU BurstBuffer, heterogeneouscomputing power scheduling and offloading, based on the major technicalrequirements of the 14th Five-year Plan (2021-25).

With a focus on international frontier research,independent innovation, application of technological results, major nationalstrategies and economic and social development, the center will work hard tocreate leading solutions with core competitiveness in terms of client-focusedperformance and the development of supercomputer storage systems, throughoutthree years of joint innovation.
